Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks are well established as a first line treatment for migraine and cluster headaches.
The remarkable SPG blocks have been utilized for over 100 years for treating a wide variety of painful disorders relating to the autonomic nervous system . The Sympathetic and Parasympathetic nerves of the Autonomic nervous system run on all of the branches of the Trigeminal nervous System.
The Sphenopalatine Ganglion is the largest Parasympathetic Ganglion of the cranium. It is found in the Pterygopalatine Fossa along with the Maxillary Division of the Trigeminal Nerve and the Maxillary artery.
Sympathetic nerves from the Superior Cervical Sympathetic Chain pass through the Sphenopalatine Ganglion prior to joining the Trigeminal Nerve. The chain includes the Stellate Ganglion which has been blocked to CURE PTSD in a significant number of Veterans. These same nerves pass through the Sphenopalatine Ganglion and along the Trigeminal Nerves to control blood flow to the anterior 2/3 of the meninges of the brain. General Autonomic Afferents is the designation of all afferent autonomic nerves, both sympathetic and parasympathetic.
This video is a patient who found relief with Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks after Brain Surgery and MVD Microvascular Decompression Failed to provide relief.
Dennis has had over 20 years of chronic severe left-sided headache, migraine, facial pain and Trigeminal neuralgia. SPG Blocks have relieved this pain and he can now Self-Administer Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks. Listen to his story.
He has had multiple brain surgeries including a trigeminal nerve decompression surgery but only Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks have helped.
He has learned how to self-administer and has supplies for 100 bilateral blocks for less than 1/3 the cost of a single block by neurologist.
Stacey was just seen today on 1/20/20 and is a patient with a very similar story to Dennis. Years of chronic pain / Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia, multiple failed surgeries, extractions, sinus surgeries and a cornucopia of poly-pharmaceuticals. She just learned today how to self administer SPG Blocks.
I often see amazing results in patients diagnosed with Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia though ATN is a garbage diagnosis similar to idiopathic pain. Both are guesses not real diagnosis in many if not most cases.
Mike has head pain, face pain and upper tooth pain. He and his wife learned how to administer SPG Blocks and pacticed till it was easy to do.
This is a video of a patient who learned to Self-Administer SPG Blocks for Migraine and felt instant relief of her lifetime anxiety:

I live in Tillamook Oregon. Is there a means for me to try that here?

Patricia,
There are many doctors who do SPG Blocks on patients. You could find a local doctor and expect to pay $750-$3500 for a Block.
I am the leading proponent worldwide promoting use of Self-Administered SPG Blocks.
I have taught dentists worldwide in how to utilize self-administration primarily to Neuromuscular Dentists who are members of ICCMO.
You can go to ICCMO.org and find dentists in your area and see if they teach self-administration of SPG Blocks.
I am working for ICCMO to list it on their site in the future.
Many patients with Trigeminal Neuralgia, especially type 2 or atypical TN actually have conditions best treated by Neuromuscular Dentistry and the best qualified ones are associated with ICCMO. Neuromuscular Dentistry utilizes an Ultra Low Frequency TENS (Myomonitor) that will act as a neuromodulation unit of the Sphenopalatine Ganglon as well.
Sphenopalatine Ganglion Blocks and Neuromuscular Diagnostic Orthotics are ideal for treating TN patients.
